EATING plenty of spinach washed down with orange juice is said to help slash the risk of early memory loss for men.
Those scoffing the leafy greens which gave cartoon sailor Popeye super strength saw a drop of up to 34 per cent, a study revealed.
Drinking orange too also protected against “poor thinking skills”, reducing risk by up to 49 per cent, a survey of 28,000 men over 20 years by US university Harvard found.
Lead researcher Dr Changzheng Yuan said: “Our studies provide further evidence dietary choices can be important to maintain brain health.
“One of the most important factors in this study is that we were able to research and track such a large group of men over 20 years.”
Participants ate varying amounts of leafy greens such as spinach, or red and orange veg and fruit.
