Theatre-goer moaned the actor playing ‘Lord Farquaad’ in a production of Shrek is ‘too tall’ and leaves dwarfs out of work

A THEATRE-goer has complained the actor playing Lord Farquaad in a production of Shrek is “too tall” — and putting dwarfs out of business.

Angry Bill Nicholson said he was disgusted and would be boycotting his local playhouse.

Samuel Holmes, the 6ft actor who plays the pint-sized villain in the touring musical production, shuffles around stage on his knees.

Mr Nicholson, of Plymouth, said it was “following a trend” of freezing out dwarfs because they have to receive a higher rate of pay.

He said: “What next — Snow White and The Seven Tall people?”
The Theatre Royal Plymouth said: “We have no control over casting for productions playing at TRP as part of a tour.”
