Labour MP’s former campaign manager told Old Bailey that she ‘was at meeting at his house’ amid claims she lied to the police about speeding
THE former campaign manager of a Labour MP accused of lying to cops over speeding has given dramatic new evidence against her in court.
Fiona Onasanya claims a Russian man was driving her Nissan Micra when it was flashed by a speed camera.
The Peterborough MP has so far refused to say where she was.
But yesterday her former aide came forward with new evidence and told the Old Bailey she was at a meeting at his house — close to the camera.
Asked what time she was there, he said: “I cannot say a specific time however she arrived late and was there quite late because we offered her a bed to stay the night.
“She arrived in her car. She arrived alone. She pulled up her car in front of our house. I greeted her at the door.”

Dr Christian DeFeo said he felt a moral duty to speak out after his wife read a report of her trial.
He denied he “had it in for” the MP after a “bit of a falling out” between her and his wife Caroline Earle. He told the court: “It is with the greatest reluctance I have to do this.”
Onasanya, 35, is accused of plotting with brother Festus Onasanya to claim their former Russian tenant was at the wheel when her car was clocked doing 41mph in a 30mph zone in July last year.
She denies perverting justice. Her brother admitted three charges of perverting justice, including one related to the incident. The trial continues.
