Parents on paedo alert as stranger tries to lure schoolboy, 12, into his car

Sussex Police want anyone with information about the predator to come forward after the incident in Seaford, East Sussex

PARENTS are on paedo alert today because a creepy man who tried to lure a young boy into his car is still on the loose.

The terrifying incident - revealed by Sussex Police this morning - happened in East Albany Road, Seaford, at about 4.30pm on Monday.

The 12-year-old schoolboy was walking his dog along the road when the stranger told him to get into his parked car.

The driver's window was open and the man leaned across and tried to coax the vulnerable child into the vehicle.

But the boy was frightened and immediately ran home, telling his parents about the sinister stranger.

Cops searched the area after getting a call from the boy's family, but the man and his small black car had disappeared.

As news spread today, parents were warning their children to beware of the menacing grown-up.

Seaford Head School, the local co-ed comprehensive with 1,200 pupils aged 11 to 18, was also specifically informed of the incident.

A school spokesman said today: "We will work with police and parents to do everything we can to keep our children safe."

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident which happened at the junction of East Albany Road and Grove Road.

The boy's family want anyone who may have been in the area at the time to come forward with information.

They're also asking residents who have CCTV covering the street to contact police.

A Sussex police spokeswoman said: "We understand that such reports cause concern but we have received no further reports of anyone acting suspiciously.

"However anyone who has any information about this incident is asked to contact police online or ring 101 quoting serial 1048 of 12/11."

Local families are now warning their children amid fears the predator will strike again.
