A FORMER Gurkha salutes the fallen after climbing a Himalayan mountain and planting a poppy wreath at the summit.
Nirmal “Nims” Purja, 35, broadcast the moment live on Instagram as he reached Ama Dablam’s 22,350ft peak yesterday.
His short broadcast went live at 2am UK time (8am local time) on Sunday morning.
It showed the 35-year-old saluting in front of a poppy wreath at the summit.
Nims was born in the Dhaulagiri region of Nepal and joined the British Army's famous Brigade of Gurkhas in 2003 before becoming a Royal Marine.
Next year he plans to climb all FOURTEEN of the 8000-metre plus Himalayan peaks in a single seven-month season.
