Claims that a Saudi hit squad butchered Jamal Khashoggi and then ‘dissolved his body parts in acid’ to ensure he’d never be found

A SAUDI hit squad butchered Jamal Khashoggi and then dissolved his body parts in acid, a top Turkish official claims.

The killers are feared to have used a corrosive substance to ensure there was “no trace” of the journalist’s remains.

His body has still not been found a month after he was killed in Saudi Arabia’s consulate in Istanbul.

Yasin Aktay, a presidential advisor in Turkey, yesterday said the “only logical conclusion” was that Khashoggi, 59, has been “vaporised”.

“The reason they dismembered Khashoggi’s body was to dissolve his remains more easily,” he added.

“They aimed to ensure no sign of the body was left.”

The comments came as Khashoggi’s fiancée Hatice Cengiz called on world leaders to “bring the perpetrators to justice”.

Turkish president Recep Erdogan is seeking the extradition of the “savage” group suspected of cutting up the writer.

He was targeted after blasting Saudi ruler Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in newspaper columns.
