A MAN who racially abused a fellow Ryanair passenger has been branded a weirdo who watches internet porn on a communal computer.
Ex-railway announcer David Mesher, 70, was filmed calling Delsie Gayle, 77, “an ugly black b*****d” on a flight from Barcelona to Stansted.
Yesterday he refused to answer his door in sheltered housing in Birmingham, yelling: “Go away or I’ll call the police.”
But Keith Whitwick, 56, who lives next door, said: “He’s a bit weird.
“I know he goes on the internet looking at porn.
“He’s downstairs on the communal computer until midnight or 1am.
"You can see what’s on the screen.
“He’s a bit of a recluse.
“He does see one friend now and again.”
Essex Police came under fire for making no arrests after footage emerged of the vile outburst.
Mesher worked for British rail in Waterloo Station ticket office and as a train announcer for London Midland Railways, until his retirement.
A former colleague said he hadn't seen David for 35 years, telling The Sun Online: "He was OK then, he would never say boo to a goose, he was a friendly person.
"I never heard him swear, he never drunk, nothing."

The former work colleague said he had seen the video online and believed it was "totally out of order."
The former railway worker said: "That's not the man I knew 35 years ago.
"He used to help passengers all the time.
"He was friendly, helping people carrying bags.
"I don't agree with what he may well have done."
The elderly man said Mesher had worked with the railways since school, adding he was "very knowledgeable" about the job.
He said: "He kept to himself."
A spokesperson for the sheltered accommodation where Mesher lives released a statement today, saying: "We do not condone abusive behaviour in any form.
"As this matter is now being handled by the police we are unable to make any further comment at this stage."
Ryanair has commented on the incident, saying: "We are aware of this video and have reported this matter to Essex Police.”
