FLAMING IDIOT!

Man tries to kill spiders with BLOWTORCH… and ends up burning his parents’ house down

The unnamed bloke told fire crews that he resorted to the flamethrower after finding black widows inside the home in California

A MAN accidentally burnt his parents' house down when he used a BLOWTORCH to kill spiders.

He had been looking after the home in Fresno, California while his parents were away when he claims to have spotted dangerous black widows.

The house-sitter decided to take no chances with the venomous creepy-crawlies and went after them with a blowtorch.

The fire brigade said it was in this spider-killing spree that the house became engulfed in flames.

Although the upper half of the house was badly damaged in the blaze, the flame-throwing son managed to get out of the burning building unscathed.

Thankfully no one else was inside the home during the inferno, which took a total of 29 firefighters to tackle.

The emergency services say they don't know for sure what started the fire but they told local reporters that the blame probably lays with the blowtorch.

Incredibly, this is not the first time that fire crews were called out to someone trying to kill spiders with fire.

Almost exactly a year ago, an Arizonan homeowner used a portable propane-powered blowtorch to rid his trailer of arachnids.

His mobile home was completely torched in a massive blaze that required 23 firefighters to put out.

The fire was so bad that an elderly lady had to be evacuated from the neighbourhood after suffering minor injuries in the flames.
