FLOODY HELL

Student teacher photobombed by ‘insidious devil with burned skin’ in Sheffield flood selfie

Sarah Winn, 21, says the ghostly figure ran past her face while she was outside her front door, saying it appeared to be like the devil from the films Insidious

A STUDENT teacher claims she was photobombed by a "devil" when she was outside taking pictures of the recent flooding.

Sarah Winn, 21, says the ghostly figure - bearing a terrifying similarity to the devil in the horror Insidious films - ran past her face while she was outside her front door in Sheffield taking snaps.

She believes the pink shape that can be seen in one of the pictures is the figure of a bald man with “burned skin” which is heavily scarred and appeared right in front of the camera.

Sarah, who studies primary teaching at Sheffield Hallam University, said: "I honestly had no idea [what it was at first], my mind was racing as to what it could have been.

"But I couldn't get the image of the insidious devil out of my head because that's what it looked like to me.

"I have had many people contact me about the image, and the most recent have said that it's a poltergeist of a man with a bald head and burned skin that ran past me as I was taking the pictures."

Sarah had been taking pictures of the flood from her front step to show her dad when he came home on September 20 at around 6pm when the figure appeared.

But it was four days later when she noticed the scary image after looking back over the images.

Sarah said: "The road was flooding due to a storm and my dad was at work so I was taking a picture to show him when he got home.

"I did not notice anything strange when I took the pictures. I was on my step alone and took several pictures consecutively with seconds in between.

"I had forgotten all about the pictures until [four days later] and someone reminded me about the storm and so I went to show my dad the photos."

It is not the first unsettling experience that Sarah has had in the house, which the family moved into around 14 years ago.

Sarah said: "We are constantly experiencing strange things in my house.

"Things as simple as lights and devices turning on and off on their own, doors opening by themselves including the front door, things being moved, random technical issues, footsteps, things being thrown.

"I once had a shelf thrown at me out of the blue - a metal rack bathroom shelf that had been untouched for years flew at my diagonally, so it didn't just fall.

"We have also heard and seen things in my house.

"I do believe in the paranormal. You can't live in a house where things that you can't explain constantly happen and not believe in the paranormal.

"Once is strange, twice is a coincidence - after that there's just no hiding behind the fact that something is there.

"The photo really scared me for a while after I first saw it. But now it's just shown me what's causing all the stuff to happen [around the house]. My house is unsettling anyway.

"My parents think the same as me really, they've experienced everything too.

"My friends and family were as spooked as me when they saw the picture."

After seeing the spooky figure, Sarah tried to come up with a rational explanation for what it could be but was unable to.

So in the end she shared the image online as she felt she had captured something paranormal.

Sarah said: "I tried to desperately find some rational explanation, hence why I posted it on social media.

"However, every suggestion I received I could debunk.

"I have not staged the photos, I was not wearing pink, I was not wearing a scarf, I was on my own and I do not have any statues or figurines where I took the picture.

"A lot of people were as creeped out as me, some were trying to help me debunk it and then obviously there were sceptics that tried saying I had faked the image."
