A NINE-strong drugs gang raked in millions by flooding tourist towns with heroin and cocaine.
The group, headed by 37-year-old ringleader Ian Spackman, set up a plumbing firm to hide their crimes, a court was told.
Working out of Liverpool, they flooded Blackpool and Cumbria with the drugs, as well as the North East and Europe — supplying smaller dealers.
Prosecutor Stephen McNally told Liverpool crown court: “The tentacles of the organisation reached around England and even internationally.
“The quantities were substantial.” The gang’s earnings are unknown but estimated at millions.
Spackman, of Maghull, Merseyside, was jailed for 17 years and four months. Other sentences ranged from 7½ to 22 years.
