Pregnant Meghan Markle is ‘running on adrenaline’ during gruelling Australia Royal tour with Prince Harry
PREGNANT Meghan Markle has admitted she is "running on adrenaline" during her jam-packed first official overseas tour with husband Prince Harry.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expected to fit 76 engagements in 16 days in the whirlwind tour around Australia, Fiji and Tonga.
But despite the busy schedule, the mum-to-be has been praised for taking on her role as a royal with enthusiasm, appearing to be thrilled as thousands turned out to meet the couple during the tour.
Farm family member Emily Carroll, 33, said the former American actress admitted she was running on adrenaline as the couple arrived in Dubbo, in regional New South Wales.
The mum watched as Meghan played with her 13-month-old Ruby Carroll, later saying: "Meghan told me that she’s feeling pretty good so far, which is great, and that she’s running on adrenaline."
"She said they’re doing 76 engagements in 16 days, with maybe one rest in the middle. She’s made for this royal business, isn’t she?"
Kensington Palace this week revealed the couple, who married in May this year, are expecting their first child together in the spring.
And Meghan and her 34-year-old husband have shown their parenting instincts already during the tour.
The 37-year-old even got a sweet hug from a five-year-old as they arrived in Dubbo today.
Emily added: “They’re both great with kids.”
Both Meghan and Harry got an adorable hug from Luke, five, who told the Prince he was his favourite person after Father Christmas.
Little Luke tugged on Harry's beard, saying: "I like beards because I like Father Christmas."
The Buninyong Public School pupil was among the 150-strong welcoming party for the royal visit to the New South Wales city, 190 miles from Sydney.
Harry and Meghan had to contend with heavy rain as the Prince spoke to Australia's struggling farmers, telling them to ask for help.
She stepped in to hold an umbrella over her husband who joked "it's all right, I've got my wife" when the heavens opened.
They also met with Royal Flying Doctor Service volunteers and unveiled a new plane to mark the service's 90 years.
Mum-to-be Meghan arrived wearing jeans by Aussie brand Outland, a shirt from Maison Kitsune, Boots from J Crew and a jacket from her friend Serena Williams' collection and necklace by Natalie Marie.
During their day visit to Dubbo, the parents-to-be helped out on a local farm and met with farmers there to discuss the drought which has struck the region.
The royal couple headed straight from the airport to meet with flying doctors where they learnt about childbirth using a mannequin.
They also cut a cake to celebrate 90 years of the service and unveiled a new plane.
They then headed to a picnic and barbecue at a park for members of the public where Meghan even baked a banana bread to take with her.
