Boris Johnson set to give £30,000 after-dinner speeches to raise funds ahead of divorce
The former foreign secretary has joined JLA agency, also home to tennis player John McEnroe and TV chef Nigella Lawson
BORIS Johnson has signed to up give after-dinner speeches at £30,000-a-time as he looks to raise cash for his divorce.
The former foreign secretary recently announced plans for what could be a costly divorce from his wife of 25 years, Marina Wheeler.
The Mr Johnson has joined JLA, an agency which manages celebrity speakers on he after-dinner circuit.
Other star names on the firm's books include tennis player John McEnroe, TV chef Nigella Lawson and fellow politicians William Hague and John Prescott.
The company's website states Mr Johnson 'is regarded as one of the most captivating political speakers of his generation, with a famously entertaining style of delivery'.
The 54-year-old also recently resumed his role writing a weekly column for the Daily Telegraph, for which he commands an annual fee of £275,000.
Last month, Mr Johnson and long-suffering wife Marina Wheeler announced they are divorcing — after she accused him of cheating on her again.
The pair said in a joint statement they separated "some time ago" and are now in the process of getting a divorce.
The former mayor has been romantically linked to former Conservative Party communications chief Carrie Symonds, 30.
A statement from the husband and wife, read: "Several months ago, after 25 years of marriage, we decided it was in our best interests to separate.
"We have subsequently agreed to divorce and that process is under way.
"As friends we will continue to support our four children in the years ahead. We will not be commenting further".
Marina is mum to Boris’s four children Lara, 25, Milo Arthur, 23, Cassia Peaches, 21, and Theodore Apollo, 19.
