THIS is the hilarious moment a mum punches her mischievous son in the face when his plan to scare her spectacularly backfires.

Tylen Ellis, 12, wore a Chewbacca mask then snuck up on his mum Tashila Alexander while they were shopping in a Walmart in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

The video shows her standing next to a trolley while her attention is directed towards someone off-camera in front of her.

But in the background, Tyler can be seen creeping up behind her wearing the mask.

When Tashila spots him, she instinctively lashes out, punching him in the head and sending Tyler sprawling on the ground.

The video was originally posted on her Facebook page.

She wrote: "Bet Tylen will think twice before he tries to scare his mama.

"He failed twice first video he ran into the “Shelf” because he couldn’t see. lol haha first #SorryTylen."

It shows him accidentally walking into a shelf as he struggled to see through it.
