Who is Leland Keyser?

She is a 52-year-old who has been named by Christine Blasely Ford as someone who was a corroborating witness to claims that Brett Kavanaugh attempted to rape her.

Kavanaugh, who has been picked by Donald Trump to fill a seat on the Supreme Court, the highest court in the United States, has denied all allegations of sexual assault.

How does she know Christine Blasey Ford?

She is Professor Christine Ford's high school friend.

Ford alleged in an interview with the Washington Post on Sunday, September 16, that Mr Kavanaugh pinned her to a bed and tried to undress her when they were both teenagers.

Professor Ford testified in a hearing on September 27 claiming the judge attacked her in 1982, and feared he might "kill her".

She said: "Brett groped me and tried to take off my clothes. He had a hard time because he was so drunk, and because I was wearing a one-piece bathing suit under my clothes.

"I believed he was going to rape me. I tried to yell for help. When I did, Brett put his hand over my mouth to stop me from screaming.

"It was hard for me to breathe, and I thought that Brett was accidentally going to kill me. This was what terrified me the most, and has had the most lasting impact on my life."

Keyser believes Ford's account but is "unable to corroborate it because she has no recollection of the incident in question," her attorney, Howard Walsh, said.
