MAGALUF has banned Brits from rowdy booze cruises as part of the council's attempts to crackdown on "drunken tourism".
Authorities on Majorca have banished the sea-going events - notorious for their drunken sexual antics, unlimited alcohol and lewd behaviour.
The parties, made famous in the Brit flick The Inbetweeners Movie, are popular with young Brits heading abroad on their first holiday with pals.
But Alfonso Rodriguez Badal, mayor of Calvia, today announced he'd signed a deal with the president of Association of Balearic Maritime Activities.
The deal will regulate the use of Magaluf Bay by six firms linked to the the association, which runs boat trips along the coast of Calvia.
A council spokesman said: “The ultimate objective of the agreement on the occupation and use of Magaluf Bay is that party boats do not run.
“They involve parties which are characterised by drunken tourism with all-inclusive offers and publicity that encourages drunkenness, as well as loud music and sex-orientated games that denigrate the moral integrity of the participants and damage Calvia’s image as a tourist destination.”
The agreement also includes a deal on the upkeep of Magaluf Jetty.
Council chiefs said firms who breach the agreement would be banned from using the jetty.
A spokesman said: “The use of Magaluf Jetty is not exclusive to APEAM. Other companies can also ask for permission to use it but they must fulfil the conditions laid out in this agreement which is valid for four years.
“Calvia Town Hall is showing with this deal that it is doing all it can to eliminate the problems party boats cause locals and other visitors, and wants to improve Magaluf as a tourist destination."
Earlier this year it was claimed the booze-soaked excursions would be sunk once and for all by the end of the summer.
The claims coincided with reports politicians in the Balearic Islands which include Majorca and Ibiza were drafting legislation to prevent boat operators taking the vessels to marine reserves or protected areas of coastline where revellers swim.
Civil Guard officers have kept up the pressure on party boats in the area by boarding them to make sure all their paperwork was in order.
The announcement of today’s agreement follows another summer crackdown by Calvia Council on badly-behaved Brits on dry land, especially in Magaluf’s party strip Punta Ballena.
Several British tourists have been fined after surviving balcony falls deemed to have happened because of their own stupidity in breach of by-laws.
Council chiefs also upped the ante by putting up signs warning them of heavy fines for street drinking, nakedness and fighting.
The brightly-coloured street signs, carrying the banner line ‘Have fun with respect’ were mounted on lamp-posts and other visible spots in the party resort.
One says: “Drink on the street. Penalty 500 euros.” Another says: “Wear no clothes on the street. Penalty 400 euros.” and a third “Shout, fight, or bother people. Penalty 400 euros.”
