Who is Victor Ortiz?

Victor Ortiz was born in Garden City, Kansas to Mexican parents and is an American professional boxer and film actor.

Ortiz's mother when he was seven years old and his father left just five years later, forcing the boxer and his five siblings into foster care.

When his sister became a legal adult in 2002, she moved to Denver Colorado and Ortiz and his younger brother moved in with her.

He continued to box and later moved to California to train with super featherweight champion Roberto Garcia, who later became his legal guardian.

Ortiz at the age of 17.

He held the World Boxing Council welterweight title in 2011, and was formerly rated as one of the top three welterweights in the world by sporting news and boxing websites, including The Ring magazine, BoxRec, and ESPN.

Apart from boxing, Ortiz has also appeared in Expendables 3 in 2014, Southpaw in 2015 and made a cameo appearance on television series Ray Donovan in 2016.

He also appeared on the sixteenth series of Dancing with the Stars with professional dancer Lindsay Arnold.

Ortiz was the fourth contestant to be eliminated in the sixth week of the competition.

When was the ex-WBC welterweight champ charged with rape?

The former welterweight champion was charged with raping a woman inside a home in March, police said.

Police in Oxnard, California, say the 31-year-old Ortiz turned himself in to Ventura County Sheriffs on Tuesday afternoon, September 25.

Cops say the district attorney filed charges after a months-long investigation and Ortiz surrendered after a warrant was issued for his arrest.

The Ventura County Sheriff's website shows that Ortiz posted $100,000 bail and was released.

He faces several sex charges including rape when he appears in court on October 10.

It could not immediately be determined whether he has an attorney.

Who did the boxer play in Expendables 3?

In the 2014 film, Ortiz played the character of Mars, a young American soldier recruited onto the Expendables team.

The film also featured Sylvester Stallone, Mel Gibson, Jason Statham, Harrison Ford, Antonio Banderas, Wesley Snipes and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The plot follows the mercenary group known as The Expendables as they come into conflict with ruthless arms dealer Conrad Stonebanks, the Expendables' co-founder, who is determined to destroy the team.
