Jailed drill rapper who appeared on Tim Westwood’s YouTube channel posts chilling music threats from behind bars

Rhys Herbert, also known as "Digga D"was jailed and banned from making violent videos after being caught with a gang of thugs armed with machetes and baseball bats heading off to attack rivals

A JAILED drill rapper who appeared on Tim Westwood's notorious YouTube channel has posted a chilling new track from behind bars directly threatening a rival group, The Sun Online can reveal.

Rhys Herbert, 17, also known as "Digga D" was jailed for a year and banned from making violent music in June after being caught with a group of thugs heading into battle armed with machetes and baseball bats.

The mob were caught in November 2017 heading out to attack rivals in the 12 World gang from Shepherd's Bush, West London.

In a landmark ruling, the judge in the case banned the group from making references to death and violence in future music tracks or social media posts.

But in a breach of the ruling, Herbert posted a preview of a new drill music track that contains lyrics about stabbing people, the use of guns and an apparent threat to wage war against 12 World.

The recording, posted onto a blank screen last week, says: "Kick down doors, run at those doors…ching [stab], ching, my rumble with force."

It continues: "Needed guns, so I shot them some, and still had more, let's commence this war…"

Herbert and other members of the 1011 gang previously appeared on ex-BBC Radio One DJ Tim Westwood's YouTube channel.

In footage on the DJ's channel which has since been removed, Herbert can be seen saying "Man get whacked" and pulling a gun pose with his fingers.

Our probe also found that the rapper, who is reportedly due for release next month, has been in phone contact with fellow 1011 member Micah Bedeau, 18, who is also known as "Huncho" and "Horrid1".

A video posted on Snapchat shows the pair chatting to each other from their jail cells using illicit mobile phones.

It is thought the pair, alongside fellow gang members Yonas Girma, 21, who is known as "TY", Jordan Bedeau, 17, known as "JSav or Sav O" and Isaac Marshall, 18, known as Mskum, are preparing to be released in October.

A source revealed the 1011 gang have already targeted a rival gangster who they claim mocked Herbert in a so-called "diss track".

The possible prison releases and the new tracks has stoked fears of a new gang war on the streets of West London as they seek to settle scores and restore their status as drill rap pioneers.

Jen Lock from anti-knife campaign group, Lives Instead of Knives, told The Sun that people were "fearful" of the 1011 gang return to the streets.

She said: "How can he be releasing tracks from jail?

"People are really frightened of the 1011 and a lot of people are really worried about them coming out and the violence that might ensue.

"There is nothing to stop them because they just do not care.

"Their return to the streets could cause families to lose loved ones, if they stick to the words they say.

"It is going to end in tears."

News of the potential releases comes amid reports that members of 1011 have been involved in violent confrontations during their time in jail.

Herbert is said to have been assaulted in prison earlier in the year by an inmate known as "KK" who is apparently a member of a gang called B-side.

Ms Lock added: "Jail is failing as a deterrent and punishment for these gangs.

"It is somewhere they can go socialise, make plans and produce music.

"The fact that they are making violent tracks in prison shows they are not sorry for anything.

"They are not full of remorse for it. It is an ongoing game for them.

"The police need to crackdown on them if they are released to make sure there are no more deaths."

The Sun revealed in June that 1011 gang member Isaac Marshall, 18, was posting on Instagram from behind bars.

The 1011 gang racked up more than 15 million YouTube views on their videos before they were deleted and one record label had offered to work with them because of their popularity.

Earlier this year, a Sun investigation found that Tim Westwood's YouTube channel could have raked in as much as £1.9million.

The Ministry of Justice removed Herbert's Instagram account after being notified by The Sun and said they had spent £2million to detect and block mobile phones being used in jails.

It is not known if he will face further action for breaching the judge's order.

A Prison Service spokeswoman said: "This behaviour is unacceptable and we have now had this account taken down. Anyone found behaving this way can expect to spend significantly longer behind bars.”
