POLICE are investigating the discovery of a huge drug farm in a millionaires row street in the heart of Essex’s “Towie land”.

No one was at home when officers burst in and found rooms packed with thriving plants under rows of lamps. No arrests had been made yesterday.

The house is close to the homes of a string of The Only Way Is Essex stars including James “Lockie” Lock and his girlfriend Yasmin, Jess Wright, Dan Edgar, James “Arg” Argent and Lauren Pope.

Ashley Cole and Martin Jol, former Spurs manager, once lived yards from the mock-Tudor detached house in leafy Hainault Road, where the average property price is £2million.

There is no suggestion that the stars had anything to do with the drug plantation.

Essex police teams arrived in a fleet of vehicles including a large van as foresnsic experts combed the building and removed plants over the weekend.

A neighbour in the Millionaire's row said: "The police immediately opened all the windows in the house and you could really smell the drugs coming from there."

An Essex Police spokeswoman said: “We were called to reports of a suspected burglary on Hainault Road, Chigwell.

“But once officers arrived at the property, they discovered what is believed to be a cannabis cultivation.

“Our enquiries are ongoing.”
