World’s worst girlfriend tattoo fails shows why you should think before you ink

This gallery shows how the love of your life can become the bane of it - thanks to a blundering tattooist combined with an acrimonious split

THEY say love is blind and unfortunately there are tattoos out there proving there's truth to this age-old adage.

This gallery has drawn together some real howlers thanks to the artistic ineptitude of the tattooist.

Some of the tatts bear no resemblance to the sweetheart they are supposed to depict.

Photographs placed alongside show just how wrong they have gone, with some of them appearing to show a completely different person. 

They also beg the question of what impact these ill-fated ink jobs had on the relationships they paid homage to.
