Swimming pool forced to close for two days after ‘poo found in water’

A SWIMMING pool has been forced to close after a "poo was found in the water."
The Hamilton Water Palace, in Lanarkshire , Scotland, closed its doors for two days after the incident.
Council bosses have said that the "faecal contamination" was cause for the closure.
And staff at the popular venue had to take to social media to offer their own apologies.
It's understood that the leisure pool and pirate ship were closed down.
A spokesperson for South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture told the : “Hamilton Water Palace had to close from Monday to Wednesday morning due to a faecal contamination.
“When this happens we have to close the pool immediately and carry out a strict cleaning regime to ensure any harmful bacteria is removed.
“This is carried out in line with Pool Water Treatment Advisory Group (PWTAG) guidelines.”
A spokesperson for the venue said: "Unfortunately our leisure pool and pirate ship are currently closed and will reopen on Wednesday.

"Please note that this will mean there is no access to the pools for casual swimming between 5.20-8.30pm on Tuesday 18th September.
"This does not affect any of our group swimming lessons.
"Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause!"
