Boris Johnson ‘calls aide at centre of affair scandal and vows to protect her’
BORIS Johnson made a phone call to the aide at the centre of the 'affair' scandal - telling her he can't wait to see her again, according to reports.
BoJo, 54, vowed to "protect" Carrie Symonds, 30, and apologised for dragging her into the media storm, according to the .
Sources say the former Foreign Secretary has been in touch with Carrie in the past few days.
A friend told the paper: “He told her he was sorry for how she has been treated.
“He said he was absolutely beside himself and wants to try and protect her from this furore.
“Boris and Carrie are good friends. And, when the dust settles, he hopes they can meet again.”
The also reports the pair were spotted soaking up the sun on holiday together in Tuscany in August.
Boris, 54, has grown close to former Tory PR chief Carrie while wife Marina Wheeler is preparing to file for divorce, citing the MP’s “adultery”.
It has been claimed BoJo's estranged wife rumbled an affair after finding messages on his mobile phone.
Carrie has vanished since The Sun exclusively revealed his marital woes and she failed to turn up on her first day at her new PR job with Bloomberg.
Photos emerged of her dressed as Britney Spears before a fancy dress night at Warwick University in 2007.
Pigtailed blonde Carrie downs martinis and smiles for the camera in a short, tight-fitting green school dress, white cardigan, knee-high socks and sandals.
Carrie recently left the Tory party, amid concerns she was too friendly with leading Brexiteers, including Boris and Michael Gove.
But the defiant politician — who has repeatedly been accused of infidelity — last week gave photographers a double thumbs-up from his car.
He was pictured returning home from a shopping trip with a French loaf and an M&S bag, apparently still wearing the clothes from the day before.
