Panic at the Treasury as Philip Hammond’s cat Gladstone goes MISSING prompting frantic search
Senior officials sent a message to staff asking them to keep a look out for the three-year-old moggy
TREASURY mandarins are desperately searching for the department’s official CAT after he went missing, The Sun can reveal.
Three-year-old Gladstone is believed to be on the loose around Westminster and officials have put out an alert to all staff in a bid to track him down.
If Gladstone isn’t found it will be a huge blow to staff and ministers - because he’s rapidly become their favoured way to connect with voters on social media.
Treasury employees were told yesterday to be on the lookout for the black shorthair.
A source told The Sun: “Some people are really worried about him, they love him around the department. Hopefully we’ll find him soon.”
He could risk getting into a scrape with one of the other Westminster moggies - Number 10’s Larry, and Palmerston from the Foreign Office, who are both known for their love of a fight.
