Who was Georgia Williams?

Former head girl Georgia Williams, 17, was murdered by 23-year-old Jamie Reynolds.

Georgia, an Air Training Corps cadet who dreamed of becoming an RAF paramedic, was reported missing by her detective constable dad Stephen, 56, and mum Lynette, 51, when she failed to return home.

Speaking after the case Mr Williams described her as "very good all-round sportswoman and loved the outdoor life".

"We miss the sweet smile, the hugs, the kisses, and her infectious personality," he said.

"We miss the sound of her slightly out of tune voice coming from her bedroom and the sunshine she bought into our lives."

He described her as a "sweet and loving girl, was bullied at junior school but had persevered and stood up against this and grew stronger, becoming an advocate for fairness for everyone".

"At senior school she became a student mentor, student counsellor and in her final year made us very very proud when she became head girl," said Mr Williams.

"Her principle was that being at school should be all inclusive for all levels of ability and background.

"On May 26, evil took Georgia away from her family, people she inspired and the numerous others that have told us stories on inspiration.

"The world lost a truly wonderful person on that evening."

Who is Jamie Reynolds?

Reynolds strangled Georgia at his home in Wellington, near Telford, Shropshire, between 8pm and 9pm on May 26 this year after offering to take photographs of her for a modelling portfolio.

Shockingly, he took a sick sequence of pictures showing “before, during and after” the brutal murder.

It also emerged warped Reynolds, who worked as a petrol station attendant, had a fascination with extreme pornography and would superimpose the faces of female Facebook friends onto the bodies of naked women.

Police seized between 30 and 50 depraved images but it was unclear whether the pictures included Georgia.

Reynolds also wrote sexual fantasies about Georgia which were discovered scrawled in a notepad in his bedroom.

After killing the teenager, Reynolds drove 50 miles to remote woodland off the Nant-y-Garth pass near Wrexham where he dumped her body.

He then fled to Scotland via Rhyl, Chester, and Kendal in Cumbria.

After a UK-wide manhunt Reynolds was arrested by officers outside a Premier Inn hotel in Glasgow City Centre on May 28, before her body had been found.

He dramatically admitted his crime just as he was about to go on trial at Stafford Crown Court.

Reynolds was given a whole life term for the what the judge called the “scripted, sadistic and sexually-motivated murder”.
