POP star Dua Lipa was left holding back tears on stage as heavy handed police dragged fans out of her concert in China for dancing.
The 23-year-old from London stopped winding and twirling herself mid-song, as officers appeared to threaten revellers who resisted last night.
Footage from Shanghai shows officials flocking to young women who were dancing and singing along to Dua's hit single 'One Kiss' in the crowd.
One officer violently pulls a young girl from her seat with so much force she almost falls over.
Another fan who almost bumped into an official as she was dancing along was body-slammed to the ground.
Other footage shows at least ten officers pouncing on one fan, and one fly-kicking a reveller who tries to run away.
One furious officer showed his middle finger to a fan who filmed the shocking incident on September 12.
Trying not to cry, Dua told the crowd: "I want to create a really safe environment for us to all have fun.
"I want us all to dance. I want us all to sing, I want us all to just have a really good time."
Dozens took to social media to claim the fans were removed for standing up and waving the pride flag.
Xectore Lee wrote: "The guards took fans out of the show only because they wanted to stand up to dance with Dua Lipa during her show in Shanghai, China.
"And unsurprisingly the pride flag was also taken away by guards. Savage. Dua herself was sad on stage too."
Hours after the incident, Dua expressed her horror in an Instagram message which said: "Last night I did it for my fans. A promised show.
"I stood by them, sang with them and danced with them. I will stand by you all for your love and beliefs and I am proud and grateful that you felt safe enough to show your pride at my show.
"What you did takes a lot of bravery. I always want my music to bring strength, hope and unity. I was horrified by what happened and I send love to all my fans involved.
"I would love to come back for my fans when the time is right and hopefully see a room full of rainbows. I love you Shanghai xx."
But fans have continued to speculate why officials reacted with so much force.
Ellie Aka said: "What happened in Dua Lipa concert in Shanghai is so wrong. She had to wear a long glove to cover her tattoo and fans were violently beaten up and dragged out from the concert for standing up or displaying a rainbow flag.
"I left China when I was 17 for a reason and u-know why."
LiberatedDex who posted shocking footage of officials dragging fans, said: "Several fans were violently put down & carried out tonight on Dua Lipa concert in Shanghai China, because they weren't allowed to stand up due to 'safety concerns', which is a common concert rule in China, but this time it's gone too far."
