Four hospitals across Manchester cancel operations and appointments after computer crash crippled system

FOUR different hospitals have been forced to cancel operations and appointments today after a computer crash crippled NHS systems.
Staff at Royal Oldham Hospital, Fairfield General, North Manchester General and Rochdale Infirmary are struggling to access patient records and test results.
The Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust have been frantically trying to fix the problem since around 4am, reports.
They stressed the crash has been caused by an internal hardware system rather than a cyber attack.
A&E and maternity services are not affected and patients due for outpatient clinics and elective operations should attend unless they receive a cancellation call.
It is unclear how many patients have been affected by the crash but some have already received calls cancelling their appointments.
