SOME readers will have been familiar with TV's most famous yellow family all their lives.

The Simpsons have been on our screens for nearly 30 years with Homer and Marge Simpson, along with their kids Bart, Lisa and Maggie entertaining us.

But eagle-eyed Simpsons fans have discovered a clanger from the programme's creator, Mark Groening.

In the sixth series following the irreverent Simpsons family, an episode titled 'And Maggie Makes Three' shows a flashback scene to where Marge is pregnant with Maggie.

As Homer sits down to vent to a heavily-pregnant Marge about his daily struggles, we see framed photos of a baby Bart and a woodland sunset adorn the walls.

But in the next shot we see a photo of MAGGIE on the wall behind Marge, who is supposed to be in her mum's womb!

Also on the wall is a photo of the as-yet-unborn Maggie!

Twitter reacted in typical jokey fashion, with one fan saying of the baby: "It's obviously Lisa! Maggie just wears hand-me-downs!"

It was actually an executive producer of the show who spotted the glaring error.

Simpsons producer Matt Selman noticed the gaff and decided to share it with fans.

His fellow producer Al Jean joked in a tweet: "I hope you're happy because we just fired SEVENTEEN people for that blunder. Fired. Through. Done."
