Teen, 19, stabbed in the neck in Essex as cops hunt moped gang

The victim was attacked by the knife-wielding group at a bus stop as he sat with a pal, 18, in Romford last night

A TEENAGER is fighting for his life after being stabbed in the neck by a moped gang in Essex last night — as Britain's bloodshed continues.

The 19-year-old also suffered knife wounds to his chest, arm and leg in the bloody attack in Harold Hill, Romford, just outside London.

An air ambulance was dispatched and the teen is in a serious but stable condition in an East London hospital today.

The victim was attacked at around 11:30pm as he sat with a pal, 18, at a bus stop near North Hill Drive.

They were approached by knife-wielding suspects on a moped before a fight broke out, police say.

Medics also treated the 18-year-old at the scene while the older teen was rushed to a major trauma centre.

A Scotland Yard spokesperson added: "If anyone has any information, they are asked to call 101 reference CAD 8838/ 5Sept18 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111".

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called at 11:36pm yesterday to Dagnam Park Drive, Romford to reports of an incident.

“We sent a number of resources to the scene including an incident response officer and a advanced paramedic. We also dispatched London's Air Ambulance.

“We treated two people at the scene. One of these we took as a priority by road to a major trauma centre."

Last month police opened their 100th murder investigation in the capital amid lawless London's bloodbath.

Since then there have been several more stabbings — including an 18-year-old who was knifed in Islington, North London last night.

London has been plagued by bloodshed this year with knife crime and shootings on the rise as cops struggle to contain the violence.
