Hunt for driver who mowed down girl, 11, after first day of school in shocking road rage attack
A DRIVER who allegedly mowed down an 11-year-old girl walking home after her first day of secondary school is being hunted by police.
Year 7 pupil Kiana Duncan-Millwood was rushed to hospital with severe head injuries after the driver mounted the kerb and rammed into her.
The incident began when Kiana’s brother Kieran, 29, argued with the driver over his “boy racer” driving near Claremont High School in Harrow, north London.
The car drove away so Kiana and Kieran set off walking home, accompanied by their neighbour Jovan.
But seconds later the car came back, mounting the curb and speeding straight at the three of them just yards from the school gates on the first day of term.
Kieran tried in vain to push Kiana to safety but the car smashed into her and Jovan.
Cops are treating the incident as attempted GBH and are searching for the driver, who fled the scene.
Speaking from St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington today, Kiana’s mother Cynthia, 46, said: “I’ve been up all night crying. It was her first morning at school and this happened.
“This morning she was saying how everybody would be getting ready to go to school but she couldn’t because she’s in hospital.
“I don’t know when she’s going to be able to go back.
“I told her people on the road aren’t nice and that I didn’t want her walking on her own before this happened.
“How can I ever let her walk home again?
“This person has hit a child in school uniform. It was a premeditated action.”
Appealing for information on Facebook, her father Donald Millwood said: “This morning we sent our princess off to her first day at high school with prayers in abundance.
“This afternoon I was called and told to meet our child at the hospital.
“Someone attempted to murder my child. He drove on the pavement and knocked her over deliberately and sped off.
“She is awake now with multiple bruising and with a thin line of blood surrounding her brain.
“I cannot tell you how mad, angry, heartbroken, distraught and upset I am.
“Now I am appealing for anyone that was in the Preston Hill area around 1.50pm to come forward and give any information.”
A man in his 20s was also treated for minor injuries at the scene.
