In a brutally honest post, Anne wrote: "Great place for a divorce.

"Took my ex-husband (husband at the time) to the tunnel to break things off and inform him about the divorce.

"Bye Steven. The walk back through the elongated trouble (sic) felt like the first step towards freedom from Steven and his massive collection of recorders.

"Best moment of my life."

The plexiglass tunnel acts as a walkway at a Sainsbury’s in the town.

One twitter user wrote: ‘One recorder is too many recorders. 'Massive collection of recorders' Steven had to go.”

Another wrote: “Poor Steven, if only he’d paid less attention to his recorders and more attention to her tunnel maybe this wouldn’t have happened”

The walkway has more than 600 reviews with tongue-in-cheek comments including:  a "fantastic section of modern engineering", "a perfect winter’s walk" and a "true engineering wonder of the world".

One user wrote that it was a "great family activity" and said it was perfect to keep children dry on a wet and windy day for free.

To show their appreciation of the supermarket tunnel and join in on the joke, people are travelling from all over the country to get a snap next to the unlikely tourist attraction.

It has also scooped eighth place as the best tourist attraction of Bude on Trip Advisor and even has its own Facebook page.
