Joking with the presenter of the Swedish television show, Sarah said: “You won't believe it but when I was 18, I cleaned very good mirrors.

“I cleaned lavatories when I was 18 and graduates' bedrooms; they all left it very messy.”

The Duchess of York married the royal on 23 July 1986, at Westminster Abbey in London.

Despite divorcing in 1996, she remains close to her ex-husband, who was her friend from when she was young.

But between their childhood growing up together and ultimately starting a romantic relationship, Sarah led quite a different life.

After scrubbing toilets, she added: “And then the waitresses in a strudel house.

“I don’t cook, I just took the strudel out of the deep freezer and put it in the oven; that’s cooking.

“Then I married a prince, it was great.”
