A STUNNING Georgian home is currently up for sale, complete with a half-acre of land and access to the River Thames from its garden.

But there's more to 'The Limes' than meets the eye.

The luxury home has its own BUNKER hidden in its grounds.

The extremely rare concrete WW2 air raid shelter is still intact and accessible to the homeowners and previous occupants have used it as storage space.

And that's not all - a sealed up secret school room is hidden away under the floorboards of the house.

A piece of angled skirting board and an area of the flooring that feels ‘bouncy’ mark where the concealed entrance to the school room is.

The Limes also has other quirky historic features including servants' quarters, a wood burning fireplace and a cellar.

Natalie Carter at Fine & Country said: “The Limes is a wonderful example of how history makes its mark on houses through the generations.

“The servants’ quarters are typical of Georgian houses, while the bunker is a rare existing example of a concrete air raid shelter.

“And now, having studied the history and walked the house, it appears there's a former school room under the house that's been sealed up."

The house is currently on the market for £1million.

All of the six bedrooms are doubles and the garden has several fruit trees and vegetable patches.

The large sitting and drawing rooms on the ground floor offer large living space, with each room having a bay window and French windows overlooking the garden, allowing in plenty of light and direct access to the lawn.

And the kitchen features an Aga range in addition to an electric oven and gas hob, with a separate pantry and boot room.

Tucked away is an office overlooking the garden and just off the kitchen is a good size dining room linking the kitchen with the hallway.

The first floor leads to four of the six double bedrooms, one of which has an en-suite bathroom, and the additional two bedrooms can be found on the top floor.

People interested in buying the house will undoubtedly be drawn by both its history and impressive space.

And there's still room to put your own stamp on the The Limes when it's snapped up.

While the original house is listed, the extension housing the kitchen, laundry room and study is unlisted, offering potential to convert this area of the house into a significant kitchen, dining and garden room subject to planning permission.

Foodies can enjoy produce from several fruit trees bearing mulberries, apples and pears while the vegetable garden offers a good selection of vegetables, fruits and herbs.

At the bottom of the garden there are three sheds and a gate leading into the church grounds, and one down to the river Thames.
