PAUL Gascoigne has opened up about how he is still hurting after losing his nephew to suicide.
Jay Kerrigan, 22, died from a morphine overdose in 2016 after years suffering from debilitating obsessive compulsive disorder - the same illness which has plagued his troubled uncle, 51.
The ex-England ace's sister Anna - Jay's mum - says her son was not given the proper support he needed for his mental health condition after turning 16.
Speaking ahead of Jay’s inquest next month, Paul, 51, told : “I was with Anna when the services let Jay down and he accidentally overdosed and passed away.
“It hurts to lose my nephew... I lost him and ended up in rehab. I want to support anyone that is suffering like my nephew did.
“I’m hoping to save other people’s lives as I’ve lost my nephew, who said to me, ‘Uncle Paul they won’t help me’. What did he have to do to get help?”
Anna is appealing for donations for legal representation at the inquest, which starts on September 25.
In August 2018, Gazza was held at a railway station by cops from British Transport Police after the woman alleged he touched her inappropriately.
He was later released pending further inquiries while police appealed for witnesses.
The arrest is the latest blow to the former Spurs midfielder, who has fought a lengthy battle with booze addiction.
Gascoigne was nicked at Durham railway station on Monday evening following the alleged incident on board a train from York.
Friends hoped he had finally turned his life around after finding love with divorcee Sara Lovatt, 49.

He has recently been staying in a tranquil South Leicestershire village 12 miles from Sara’s home.
But earlier this month he was found naked in a communal area before a chaotic appearance on Sky’s Soccer AM.
He left the show early, saying he was unwell and later rubbished claims he had been drinking, blaming sleeping tablets.
