Prince George, 5, taken to grouse hunt with dad Royal family for first time during visit to Balmoral

PRINCE George has been taken to his first grouse hunt during a family visit to Balmoral.

Kate, Wills and their three children are staying with Her Maj in Scotland, where George, five, attended a shoot lunch with other members of the Royal family.

The Cambridges are expected to stay with the Queen for the entire weekend.

Her Majesty reportedly drove her Range Rover to witness the young prince make the major milestone - as he attended the lunch with Kate while dad Wills went hunting.

Prince Charles, joined for lunch, alongside Prince Edward, Sophie Wessex with Zara and Mike Tindall also present.

A source said: “It was a very jolly family lunch. The men and Princess Anne all shoot in the morning, then the wives and children join the party for the shoot lunch on the moor.”

Prince William started shooting as a youngster.

He was snapped in 1994, aged 12, when he killed his first stab with a single shot.

He was believed to have been “blooded”- smeared on the forehead with the blood of the animal.

This followed his dad Charles’s initiation more than 30 years before.

There was no sign of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle who were expected to be staying with Her Majesty this weekend.

Earlier today, the Duchess of Cambridge was in high spirits as she sat in the back seat of the Royal Daimler next to The Queen.

The pair arrived at church together, with Prince William in the front seat, before Prince Charles, Prince Edward and his family joined them.

The Duchess of Cambridge opted to wear an elegant grey tweed coat dress, with a black hat in an apparent bid to complement Her Majesty's royal blue number.

The Queen looked radiant in her blue coat and matching hat, which had a regal orange feather ornament on its front.
