Anti-Brexit activist Gina Miller reveals she was raped in ‘brutal’ gang attack in East London

GINA Miller has revealed the horror of being raped during a gang attack when she was a student.

The anti-Brexit campaigner has told of how the vile attack turned her into a recluse because she didn’t feel safe going outside.

The mum-of-three was a student at the University of East London when she was set upon by a gang of men as she walked to Mile End Underground Station.

She told : “I went into shock. It took me a long time to come to terms with what happened.

“I hid in my bedroom for weeks; I couldn’t even think about leaving the room, which was safe. I felt really lonely.”

In a soon to be released memoir she adds that she felt “dirty” and “violated” after the attack.

She goes on to say that now following her anti-Brexit activism she and her family are living under tight security.

The 53-year-old businesswoman says that panics when she sees people approaching her carrying water bottles fearing they may fling acid in her face.

Miller caught the public’s attention when she hired the City law firm Mischon de Reva to challenge Article 50 and the British Government’s authority to leave the EU without Parliament approval.

She was the lead claimant in the historic legal action against the Government.

She fought her case with several other applicants, including the so-called “People’s Challenge”, which has the backing of thousands of supporters.

She quickly became a hated figure among some Brexiteers following the dramatic High Court decision on November 3, 2016.

A judge ruled Parliament had to legislate before the Government could trigger Article 50.
