How do you find out your A-level results? How to get your grades and what happens next
A LEVEL results day is TODAY, with thousands of teenagers' futures depending on what grades are hiding inside the envelope.
As the day of reckoning approaches, here is what you need to know about finding out whether you will be celebrating or commiserating.
How do you find out your A-level Results?
A-level results day is Thursday, August 15.
Students will be able to collect their A-level results any time after 6am from their school or college assuming it is open at that time.
Pupils will be able to see their university confirmation on Ucas Track from 8am.
became available from 8am on Thursday, August 1, 2019, updating records for each applicant.
What happens next?
If you get bang on your grades or above you can carry on as planned and prepare to go to the uni that you accepted an offer from earlier in the year.
For those who are looking to go to uni but fall short of the requirements come results day, you will still be able to browse the Ucas website for Clearing spaces at other universities.
Over 64,400 students used clearing in 2015 to get a place at university, so it can be a great tool for those keen to embark on an undergraduate degree.
If your A-level results are higher than those required for your firm offer, you are entitled to look around for a university with higher entry requirements if you wish.
This is known as the “Adjustment period” and you will be given five days from the date your conditional offer is changed to an unconditional offer to search for a possible alternative.
If you haven’t chosen to defer already, you will need to get in touch with the university as soon as your place with them is confirmed to tell them that you wish to defer the offer.

Should you bring anything with you on results day?
Students are advised to bring with them their Ucas letter and contact details for any university offers they have, plus everything you'd need to apply through Clearing, such as a phone and the Clearing app.
It may also be useful to bring a copy of your personal statement and a copy of your reference.
People can actually apply through Clearing if needed from June 30 – but its most frequently used after results day by people who have just missed out on their grades.
It remains open until September, allowing you to contact unis directly if they still have spaces on a course which takes your fancy.
