Baffling moment car ‘disappears in puff of smoke’ on motorway… but can you tell what really happened?

Eagle-eyed viewers may notice there appears to be a left-hand turnoff just as the smoke billows up, but the real answer can be seen for the briefest moment.

The Dashcam footage shows a white saloon following a truck on a two-lane road.

The car shoots out a puff of smoke, and when it clears the car appears to have disappeared.

Just as the cloud clears the back of the white car can be glimpsed pulling in front of the truck.

The video's description confirms this: "The car in front of mine blew a large cloud of smoke and appeared to disappear.

"The car actually goes in front of the truck and reappears in the turning lane this bit is cut from the video to create the effect of it disappearing completely."

This didn't stop one commenter suggesting the car is the "Back to the future car".

The clip's description suggests the bizarre event occurred in late December last year, in New South Wales, Australia.
