BBC BIAS BLASTED

BBC chiefs have been accused of bias against Boris Johnson for coverage of the former Foreign Secretary’s burka jibes

BBC chiefs were accused of being “biased against Boris” yesterday in an extraordinary row over his Burka jibes.

Tory MPs let rip as the broadcaster’s politics web page was dominated with SIX stories about the ex-Foreign Secretary’s incendiary comments.

But there were none about Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn’s anti-Semitism row.

Tory backbencher Andrew Bridgen stormed: “This is yet again another example of rather than reporting the news, the BBC is deciding the news.

“It’s once again showing it’s intrinsic bias.”

It came as others criticised the Beeb for interviewing the Muslim Council of Britain over the Burka row.

The BBC on Monday insisted it covered “every story on its merit”.

Earlier on Monday, Theresa May’s allies urged Boris Johnson to turn his fire on Labour and Labour’s London Mayor Sadiq Khan rather than criticising Downing Street.

A close supporter to the PM said he should be using his time to “expose the London mayor” and secure a Tory win in 2020.

Downing Street said the PM’s position had not changed since she asked Boris Johnson to apologise for comparing Muslim women wearing Burkas to letterboxes and bank robbers.
