Twisted killer, 18, raped then butchered 16-year-old girl he met on social media after becoming obsessed with her

A RUSSIAN teen raped a 16-year-old girl he met online, then killed and dismembered her after she threatened to tell police.
The body of victim Maria Konnova was so savagely axed her remains had to be identified by DNA matching.
The 18-year-old attacker, Vladimir Sharov, was sentenced to 14 years in a maximum security prison late last week after pleading guilty to her murder.
Sharov reportedly put Konnova's body parts in plastic supermarket bags and dumped them in his neighbourhood near the city of Magnitogorsk.
He initially claimed to be ill and bedridden at the time of the murder and made a video to trick police.
Investigators were able to prove he carried out a vicious sexual attack on the girl and Sharov later pleaded guilty to the murder.

A neighbour who alleged to have seen the crime scene said Konnova's hands were tied, and socks were put into her mouth to stop her screaming.
The neighbour said: “He raped her…. he was afraid that she would report him to police and strangled her.
“Then he axed her just like a piece of meat.”
During a noisy row, neighbours reportedly heard Konnova shouting: “I will get you sent to jail.”
Soon after it went quiet.
The teenager’s body parts were only found a week later, a court was told.
The judge revealed that the attacker had previously committed another rape on a school-aged girl.

A friend of Konnova's said the pair met on social media.
“She saw him several times in real life.”
The friend said Konnova was flattered an 18-year-old was interested in her, and while he fell in love with her but she found him “stupid”.
