Sickening hospital bed photos of granddad-of-six, 45, blinded by mystery thugs
Kenny Miller, 45, was hit and knocked to the ground as the vicious thug then stamped up and down on his head. Doctors were unable to save his left eye
HORRIFIC images of injuries inflicted in a cowardly attack which left a grandad-of-six permanently blind in one eye have been released.
Kenny Miller, 45, was knocked unconscious after he was hit with an unknown object from behind and next remembers waking up in hospital 24 hours later.
He is due to undergo reconstructive surgery at Liverpool’s Fazakerley Hospital over the coming days to treat a broken eye socket and cheekbone.
And now police have released the images in a bid to help trackdown the brutal thug who did this.
Doctors have told him that he is now blind in his left eye due to the injuries sustained.
Bloodied pictures show the extent of the damage as police carry out a manhunt in connection with the “serious assault”.
Dad-of-seven Kenny was struck by an object while making his way home at around 7pm on Friday, July 27 after taking his daughter for a haircut in St Helens, Merseyside.
The former excavator driver recalls the attacker first squirted him in the face with coca cola and after walking away, 10 minutes later he reappeared and launched the brutal attack.
He said: “He first squirted a bottle of coke in my face. I walked off and 10 minutes later he reappeared by the taxi office as I was getting a taxi home.
“I think he was drunk and he just assaulted me. He was apparently stamping up and down on my head when I was knocked on the floor.
“I was not the only person he attacked that day, he has been on some sort of rampage.
“I don’t remember what happened and I woke up being sick and full of blood in A&E 24 hours later.
“Doctors could not save my left eye, it’s gone and there is nothing I can do about it.”
The shocking attack happened five days after his daughter had given birth to his latest grandchild.
Police said the victim was struck by an unknown object such as a bottle, though he is not sure what it was.
A report made to police said a woman was also assaulted at the scene but it is believed that she was not as seriously hurt in the incident.
Officers investigating the attack have conducted CCTV enquiries.
A Merseyside Police spokesman said: “This is a serious assault and we are appealing to anybody who may have witnessed it or may have any dashcam footage taken at the time of the incident which can assist the investigation to come forward.”
