SACHA Baron Cohen pranked a furious US politician claiming his character could tell if he was a sex offender using a "wand".

Posing as ex-Mossad agent Colonel Erran Morad he lured Roy Moore into an interview where he showed off some of Israel's latest "gadgets" in the latest episode of Who Is America?

He then describes how the country has invented a "sex offender detector" before demonstrating how it works with the failed Republican candidate.

Moore was accused by several women during his campaign in November of pursuing them as teenagers in the 1980s.

One woman told  a Washington Post investigation he initiated a sexual encounter with her when she was just 14.

The Ali G star told Moore about a new Israeli technology that is capable of accurately identifying sex offenders and “paedophiles”.

“The phrase ‘sweating like a rapist’ is actually based on science,” he said.

Baron Cohen then pulled out the handheld detector and told Moore it wouldn’t beep “ … because neither of us are sex offenders”.

The comedian waved the detector over his own body and it remained silent but as soon as he waved it over Moore’s body, the detector beeped.

“It must be faulty,” Baron Cohen said. “It’s malfunctioning.”

He glided the detector over an uncomfortable-looking Moore again and it continued to beep.

“Is this your jacket? Did you lend the jacket to somebody else?” Baron Cohen asked.

Moore angrily said he had been married for 33 years and had “never had an accusation of such things”.

“Certainly, I’m not a paedophile,” he said. “Maybe Israeli technology hasn’t developed properly.”

The judge then promptly stormed out of the interview.

Moore is just the latest politician to fall victim to the pranksters actions.

In the first episode, Baron Cohen's radio journalist persona is shown dining at the home of two Trump supporters in South Carolina and regaling them with lurid stories about his supposed family.

It comes after Cohen was slammed by Sarah Palin, 54, when he apparently posed as a wounded military veteran to dupe her into taking part in the show.

Palin, the former governor of Alaska, revealed she will feature in the satirical comedy series, while branding his humour “exploitive” and “sick”.

In a scathing Facebook post she alleged Cohen pretended to be wheelchair-bound to convince her he was a wounded former serviceman.

She wrote: "Yup - we were duped. Ya' got me, Sacha. Feel better now?
