A MUM and daughter told of their fear that fans would be crushed in a "free for all" as thousands lifted fences to leave a Little Mix concert.
The pair travelled to the outdoor gig in Aberdeen on Saturday night to enjoy the
But chaos descended afterwards when punters began lifting fences to try to get out of the venue.
We told you earlier how shocking footage captured the chaos after the gig at the AECC.
Now one pair of fans have described how terrifying the ordeal was as people, including children, scrambled under uneasy fences hoisted high into the air.
One witness said: "It was a total free for all.
"I was there with my 15-year-old daughter and the gig was fantastic.
"Throughout the whole thing there were plenty of security people and stewards there, the whole concert itself was really well organised.
"But when we got outside it was a different story.
"There was only one exit from the venue and I think people were getting tired of all walking towards this one opening in the fences.
"Before long people started lifting the fences up, thinking they would come apart.
"But they stuck together and these things were really precarious, up 10 feet in the air.
"Panic started to set in as people started clambering underneath.
"I think some were worried the fences would fall on them, even crush them.
"There were kids there so it was really quite worrying."
The fan and her daughter were able to follow the crowd out of the designated exit.
But as they were doubling back past the fences in the air, the worry that the barriers would fall became clear.
She said: "I told my daughter to just get back.
"I think people were given that rush of knowing they could get out and some were laughing too.
"But there were kids climbing under too and I think we were all just worried that those fences would fall and crush somebody."
AECC bosses apologised to those who were affected by the incident.
And they said the rush was "mainly generated out of impatience to escape the inclement weather."
A spokesperson said: "Following on from last night's fantastic Little Mix concert outdoors at AECC, we can confirm that an incident occurred where a group of people tried to leave the outdoor arena by moving the security fence line, this undoubtedly cause some alarm and distress for other concert goers, the incident was dealt with swiftly by a security and venue response team and resolved by opening up a further egress point.
"This cleared very quickly without incident and the vast majority of the public were unaware of any problems.
"As per the event plan, there were 172 security personnel on site last night, in addition, there were a number of paramedics, GP’s, first aid staff and Police Scotland working at the event.
"There were no injuries and no calls for police or further interventions as a result of this isolated incident.
"The show finished at 9.55pm and the outdoor area was cleared of all 15,000 fans by 10.50pm. The Park & Ride was clear at 11.15pm and all other car parks on site were clear by 11.48pm.
"All public toilets remained in operation in the outside arena as well as food and beverage outlets. Having assessed the photos paralleled with the various information including our internal debrief with all parties working at the event, it seems at face value that this was an isolated momentary incident mainly generated out of impatience to escape the inclement weather.
"We apologise to those affected, and want to reassure people that In advance of the show the exit strategy was planned and prepared in collaboration with all blue light services, Aberdeen City Council Environmental Heath Officers and Showsec Security who attended pre show walk rounds and planning meetings covering the event safety."
