Dennis Rodman plans to invite Kanye West to meet North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un to help solve nuke crisis
Rodman, 57, said rapper Kanye West could even write an album about his visit to the reclusive, famine-ravaged nation
RETIRED basketball legend Dennis Rodman wants to introduce Kanye West to North Korean despot Kim Jong-un, reports claim.
Rodman, who struck up an unlikely friendship with the tyrant five years ago, said the rapper should come along on his next trip to the famine-ravaged nation.
The former Chicago Bulls star, 57, : "If the door's open in September, I will invite Kanye West to go to North Korea with me.
"If he wants to make an album about that he'll be there for like six to seven days, and he'll see what's going on. Now, go make a song about this."
The invite came shortly after Kanye ,41, took to Twitter to praise the ex-athlete as one of his "biggest inspirations".
"Always breaking barriers with independent thought," the Jesus Walks hit-maker wrote alongside a photo of a Chicago Bulls jersey signed by Rodman
Rodman often talks publicly about his friendship with Kim and only last month, he wept on CNN talking about Trump's historic summit with the dictator in Singapore.
Wearing a Make America Great Again hat, Rodman wiped away tears as he said: "When I first went to North Korea, I was very honoured to be selected to go there.
"Once I went to North Korea I didn't really understand what the whole situation was as far as being over there.
"When I met Kim Jong-un, I didn't know what to expect...but once I got to know the culture over there I felt at home."
He claimed he got death threats for visiting the country, adding tearfully: "I said to everybody, the door will open.
"I had to hide out for 30 days, but I kept my head high, and I knew things were going to change…No more hatred."
The NBA superstar formed a bromance with the North Korea leader after a trip to the rogue nation back in 2013.
He has since been back to hang out with Kim four times since that bizarre encounter.
Describing his relationship, which blossomed over a shared passion for basketball, Rodman told Good Morning Britain: "I hang out with him all the time.
"We laugh, we sing karaoke, we do a lot of cool things together like skiing and riding horses."
