Sex text shame MP ‘bragged to bar maids about famous people he meets’ and told them ‘power is an aphrodisiac’

A TORY MP was forced to quit yesterday after sending 2,000 sex texts to barmaids in which he bragged about meeting famous people and claimed "power is an aphrodisiac".

It is reported Andrew Griffiths demanded explicit photos and videos from two barmaids he met on social media, and described degrading sex acts in crude detail.

Married Griffiths resigned from Government and apologised for the “untold distress” to his family early yesterday evening.

It is claimed that when asked by barmaid Imogen Treharne if he had many girlfriends, told the 28-year-old: "I get lots of offers. Power is an aphrodisiac," reported.

Griffiths, who became a father in April, sent Imogen and her pal £700 and offered to rent a flat to meet for sex, according to the paper.

Amongst the messages, it's claimed the MP wrote: “Take off the bra and panties… you’ve got Daddy in such a frenzy" and "Daddy is going to have to put some manners on you".

It's also reported he boasted about meeting famous people.

He allegedly text one of the women a selfie outside Buckingham Palace and wrote: ";Daddy met the future king tonight: but thought of you."

He also bragged about how his role as a former banker meant he knew singer Katherine Jenkins and on another occasion, how he had raised money with Katie Price for ill children.

The resignation will be a further blow to Theresa May who loses another member of her front bench team just days after Boris Johnson and David Davis quit over Brexit.

In a statement, he apologised for his behaviour that will cause “deep embarrassment” to the Prime Minister who he is “so proud to serve”.

Griffiths worked for the PM as her chief of staff in Opposition, working on environment, transport and family policy.

The MP for Burton, Staffs, tendered his resignation on Friday night and has now referred himself to the Tory party’s code of conduct.
