The gifts Theresa May gave Donald and Melania Trump at Chequers
The Prime Minister and her husband Philip gave the US President an illustrated chart of his Scottish family history, and the First Lady was presented with her own bespoke perfume made from Washington DC blossom and with scents of Earl Grey tea
THERESA May has presented Donald Trump and his wife Melania with a collection of personalised gifts to remember their historic stay in Britain.
The Prime Minister and husband Philip gave the US President an illustrated chart of his Scottish heritage, and the First Lady received a bespoke perfume, No 10 revealed today.
President Trump's mother Mary Anne Macleod was born in 1912 on the Isle of Lewis, and the chart traces the family line on both sides back three generations, using official records.
They go all the way back to his great-great-grandfather Kenneth Macleod, who was born near Stornoway in 1776 - the year of US independence.
And the document features historic maps of the area too, showing the area from years gone by.
