President Trump's mother Mary Anne Macleod was born in 1912 on the Isle of Lewis, and the chart traces the family line on both sides back three generations, using official records.

They go all the way back to his great-great-grandfather Kenneth Macleod, who was born near Stornoway in 1776 - the year of US independence.

And the document features historic maps of the area too, showing the area from years gone by.

Mr Trump is the first President for more than 100 years with a parent that was born in the UK.

Melania Trump, who visited the Chelsea Pensioners today with Mrs May's husband Philip, received a bespoke scent made by the Queen's official perfumer.

The custom-made smell was made up of Washington DC cherry blossom, rose heart, and Bergamot with its distinct Earl Grey scent.

It was presented in a bottle engraved with MT, Melania's initials, and is named "The First Lady".

J Floris Ltd, which made the perfume, is the oldest independent family perfumer in the world.

The firm's products are believed to have been used by Florence Nightingale, Winston Churchill, Marilyn Monroe and Princess Diana.

Previous exchanges of gifts have sometimes led to acute embarrassment - with one side making much more effort than the other.

In 2009, Gordon Brown gave Barack Obama a pen holder carved from a ship used to disrupt the Atlantic slave trade in the 19th century.

In return, the then-President gave the PM a collection of American DVDs.

Mr and Mrs Trump this evening enjoyed tea with the Queen at Windsor Castle, after the President spent a day holding talks with Theresa May.

They are set to continue on to Scotland where they will spend the weekend on a private visit.
