LOW-KEY Philip May will be charged with showing Melania Trump the sights when the US President flies into Britain with the First Lady next week.
Downing Street today confirmed that Mrs May’s banker hubbie will be “hosting” the glamorous former model during the transatlantic trip.
The precise details of the pairs’ itinerary are being held strictly under wraps.
But they are expected to venture out together on Friday when Donald Trump visits an undisclosed military site with Theresa May before heading to Chequers for talks.
Westminster insiders today immediately branded Mr May and Melania the “odd couple”.
Mr May, 59, is described by the PM as her “rock”. Born to a shoe salesman father John and his mother Joy, a part time French teacher, he has worked in private equity in four decades.
He is famed for being a quiet and reserved man who – in one rare public appearance on the One Show during the Election campaign –admitted to taking the bins out at their family home in Berkshire.
Melania, 48, worked as a fashion model for agencies in Milan and Paris before moving to New York in 1996.
