He allegedly strayed across the boundary while trimming one customer's grass - and was devastated when a police squad car pulled up to investigate.

The woman who lives next door is said to have called officers in Maple Heights near Cleveland, Ohio. She has previously reported children for having a snowball fight, .

After Reggie's story went viral, more than 1,500 donations have flooded in on set up to raise money for the youngsters.

The campaign was started by Lucille Holt-Colden, whose Facebook Live video of police arriving has been shared thousands of times.

She had paid Mr Reggie's Lawn Cutting Service $20 to tidy her front yard, saying it was a great way to "keep them out of trouble" after schools broke up for the summer.

Lucille, 51, was outraged when a police car pulled up so she took out her phone to film it.

Panning round towards the adjacent garden, she says on the video: “So I guess I have a line where part of it is not my yard.

“They called the police to tell the police that the kids was cutting their grass. Who does that? Who does that?”

She said Reggie's nine-year-old cousin was "frozen with fear" when the squad car pulled up because he thought he was in trouble.

Reggie bravely kept mowing and the officers did not stop or quiz them. They even posed for photos.
