Hilarious moment woman falls through shop ceiling after trying to flee cops through an air vent
Security footage caught the woman crashing down by the coffee aisle before surrendering to police after her failed escape
SECURITY footage from a Canadian convenience store has shown the hilarious moment a woman falls through an air vent as she attempts to escape from police.
Cops were called after the shop owner became suspicious as the woman's accomplice allegedly attempted to use a stolen credit card to pay for a drink.
According to, the incident happened as the pair - Brittany Burke, 29, and Richard Pariseau, 28 - were in the Spruce Grove store, Alberta on Monday afternoon.
The owner asked Pariseau if the credit card belonged to him and he said it belonged to his girlfriend.
The store owners then called police as the pair were "acting suspiciously" - but when cops arrived, both of them tried to escape arrest, with Burke going to great heights to get away from officers.
As police officers were distracted restraining Pariseau, Burke seizes the moment to run to the back of the store and attempts to escape arrest by fleeing through an air vent.
But her escape was foiled, as the ceiling collapsed and security footage caught her crashing down by the coffee aisle before surrendering to police.
According to CTV News, Pariseau faces 11 charges, including possession of stolen property under $5,000, using a stolen credit card, resisting arrest and assaulting a police officer.
Burke has been charged with obstructing a police officer, failure to comply with an undertaking and mischief.
