Yorkshire Ripper Peter Sutcliffe given a £74 TV licence rebate after complaining to jail bosses that he is almost blind
YORKSHIRE Ripper Peter Sutcliffe has been handed a £74 TV rebate.
He told jail bosses he should not have to pay a £1-a-week fee for a Freeview package.
It can be waived in “exceptional circumstances” and for prisoners over 70 — and Sutcliffe argued he was 72 and almost blind.
The fiend, a fan of Mrs Brown’s Boys, X Factor and horror shows, is “cock a hoop” after the rebate went into his jail account at Durham’s Frankland prison.
Sutcliffe, already blind in his left eye, has had an injection at Sunderland Eye Infirmary to save the fading sight in his right.
He told a jail pal: “I don’t know what I’d do without my TV and letters.”

The Ripper killed 13 women and attempted to murder seven more.
Neil Jackson, whose mother Emily was Sutcliffe’s second victim in 1976, said: “They should let him go blind and he should not be allowed to watch TV, let alone complain about paying for it.”
