AS a working-class Muslim girl from Birmingham, I didn’t suffer from great expectations.

But we live in a fantastic country where you are not limited by the expectations set upon you at birth and where tolerance runs deep.

We should be proud our society has remained open.

My own example shows what we have achieved.

In one generation of setting foot in this great country, I am helping lay foundations for future generations.
