Celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain ‘had no drugs in his body when he killed himself’, French official reveals
ANTHONY Bourdain did NOT have drugs in his system when he died, French authorities have confirmed.
The tragic chef - who battled drug and alcohol addiction for decades - was found hanged in a luxury Kaysersberg hotel room earlier this month.
Earlier this month his girlfriend Asia Argento told how she is "beyond devastated" by his death.
The actress, 42, said she will remember the "brilliant" cooking icon as her "protector" - describing him as an inspiration.
She wrote on Twitter: "Anthony gave all of himself in everything that he did.
"His brilliant, fearless spirit touched and inspired so many, and his generosity knew no bounds."
Asia met Bourdain during filming for a TV show in 2016 shortly after he separated from his second wife, the MMA fighter Ottavia Busia.
She added: "He was my love, my rock, my protector. I am beyond devastated. My thoughts are with his family. I would ask that you respect their privacy and mine."
And mum Gladys Bourdain admitted he seemed in a "dark mood" when she spoke to him in the days before his death.
She said: "He is absolutely the last person in the world I would have ever dreamed would do something like this.
